Seppe Odeyn and Melanie Maurer triumphed at the 1st POWERMAN Greece

Powerman Greece 2019,the biggest run-bike-run event that has ever been hosted in Greece, was completed with a great success. For first time in Loutraki, almost 300 participants from 30 different countries, tried their strengths in a challenging multisport run and bike course.

For Elite Women, the Swiss Melanie Maurer was the great winner with a total time of 3:00:00, confirming the title of the favourite. Second place was the Greek Deniz Dimaki with a total time of 3:11:52 leaving the 3rd place for Kristina Nec-Lapinova from Hungury with a total time of 3:14:03. Noora Honkala from Finland not only stood out from the age-groups,  but also finished 2nd in the overall ranking.

As for Elite Men, Seppe Odeyn from Belgium was the first to cross the finishline with a total time of 2:39:23, leaving Michelle Paone from Lichtenstein in the second place with a total time of 2:39:55 and the French Thibaut Le Cras in the 3rd place with 2:40:50. The 2018 world champion, Gael Le Bellec from France, was unlucky as he was forced to stop the race during the first run due to injury.

Only a few days are left for the biggest run-bike-run event that has ever been organized in Greece , the “POWERMAN Greece 2019”. This magnificent event will take place in Loutraki in 24^th of March 2019 and will host more than 300 athletes from 30 different countries, including not only age groupers but also renowned elite athletes that are expected to offer us a great spectacle.

Among Elite Men, Diego Van Looy from Belgium is expected to have a lead role and claim his 2^nd victory for this year as he is in a very good shape and he was the winner of Powerman Mallorca. Of course we couldn’t leave out of the favorites the French Gael Lebellec, last year’s world champion who still remains one of the expected winners and of course Seppe Odeyn from Belgium is also one of the expected athletes on the podium. Other athlets that are expected to have a lead role are Michele Paone (LIE), Denis Šketako (SLO) , Matt Smith (AUS) , Kasper Laumann Hartlev (DEN) , Tribaut Le Cras (FRA). Greece will be represented by duathlon champion and Powerman ambassador Grigoris Skoularikis and Triathlon Champion Grigoris Souvatzoglou.

For women, among the highlights are the Swiss Melanie Maurer and the Slovak Kristina Lapinova. For Greece, Deniz Dimaki has the advantage of “home” also has strong chance of getting to the podium. Of course as in every multisport event, everything will be decided from little details, so all scenarios are open. The spectacle will be rich, the course is very intense and with strong moments. Surely it’s a show nobody should miss.

The official presentation of POWERMAN Greece

The official presentation of POWERMAN Greece, took place at the “Triathlon Celebration” event.

On Friday 22^nd of February 2019, the gathering for the “Triathlon Celebration” took place at Athens Olympic Stadium. The gathering was hosted by Hellenic Triathlon Federation “H.T.F.”. Lots of athletes, as well as H.T.F.s stuff, sponsors, institutional representatives and simple friends of our sport, were present and created a warm celebrating and friendly atmosphere.

The big international event POWERMAN Greece that will take place at Loutraki on the 24^th of March 2019 was presented during the gathering for the “Triathlon Celebration”, an event that will be the opening for the 2019 season. The biggest multisport long distant event run-bike-run, POWERMAN, comes to Greece for the first time and will host athletes from approximately 30 countries all over the world.

During the event the Elite athletes that had already confirmed their registration were announced standing out among them was the World Champion of Duathlon Gael Le Bellec. Going on among the women the participations of Melanie Maurer (SUI) , Miriam Van Reijen (NED) , Deniz Dimaki (GRE) are standing out and for men Gael Le Bellec (FRA) , Seppe Odeyn (BEL) , Matt Smith (AUS) , Denis Šketako (SLO) , Kasper Laumann Hartlev (DEN) , Michele Paone (LIE) , Tribaut Le Cras (FRA) , Diego Van Loy (BEL)  , Grigoris Skoularikis (GRE) , Grigoris Souvatzoglou (GRE)

Petra Eggenschwiler and Diego Van Looy are the winners of the Powerman Mallorca 2019

Swiss Petra Eggenschwiler and Belgium Diego Van Looy are the winners of the 4th edition of the Ferrer Hotels Powerman Mallorca Powered by Felt. The race had perfect weather conditions and over 400 duathletes have enjoyed the competitions on the Classic distance (10km running, 60km cycling– no drafting allowed and 10km running) and on the Sprint distance (5km running, 30km cycling and 5km running). It’s been one of the earliest duathlon events of the European season. German brothers Bianca and Rico Bogen get the victory of the Sprint distance.

Ferrer Hotels Powerman Mallorca Powered by Felt has been an exciting competiton for 400 duathletes in a perfect sunny day in Can Picafort, Mallorca. Reigning Long Distance Duathlon World Champ Petra Eggenschwiler and Diego Van Looy grabbed convincing victories at the fourth edition of one of the earliest duathlon races in Europe. Swiss Petra Eggenschwiler lead the race and got a solid victory showing an impressive performance. First runner up was the Spanish Yéssica Pérez with a 4 minutes gap. Austrian Sigrid Herndler was finally third.

“It’s been amazing, the sun, the course… I felt really strong today and I’m happy to get in Mallorca the first victory of the year!” said Eggenschwiler.

In the male category, Belgium triathlete Daniel Van Looy starred a great performance to get a solid victory (2h39:41) overtaking a few rivals after the first leg. He lead the race till the second transition, and started the last run segment just 5” ahead of three times Duathlon World Champ Gael Le Bellec, who finished second. Third duathlete at the finish line was Michele Paonne, from Liechtenstein.

 “I’ve tried to follow the best runner in the first leg, then I pushed on the bike and I felt confidence I could win the race in the last 10km. Running here is so special, with nice views, the sea, also the incredible weather in February. I’m so happy!”, said Van Looy.

Two Young German brothers, Bianca and Rico Bogen got the Sprint distance victories in female and male category.

During the registration, our mechanics we will on the site for you to collect your bike and ensure you are properly fitted on the bike. You may take the bike for a ride and experience the terrain around the area of Loutraki. You can either leave the bike to us, so that we can have it ready for the race, or carry it to your accommodation facility.
